چکیده

Agricultural runoff is non-point source pollution that unpredictable and difficult to control. Best Management Practices (BMPs) Low Impact Development (LID) has been utilized as a method manage agricultural runoff. Treatment train systems are LID-BMPs arranged in series aims treat This study focuses on the use of treatment reduce concentration BOD A system was set up with three varying configurations evaluate efficiency removal. The consisted no vegetation which acts control, vegetated set, saturated zone. All showed good final removal rates at 56% for control 75% 85% both sets without classified classifying it Class III according Water Quality Standards, while zone had II I, respectively. performance compared single bioretention system.

Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD)

Biochemical oxygen demand (BOD) is a widely used parameter to assess the organic pollution in water systems. This parameter can be detected by the amount of oxygen consumed via microorganisms in aerobic metabolism of organic matter present in the water. The authorized test to analyze biodegradable organic compounds is given by the American Public Health Association Standard Method Committee tha...

Methods for assessing biochemical oxygen demand (BOD): a review.

The Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD) is one of the most widely used criteria for water quality assessment. It provides information about the ready biodegradable fraction of the organic load in water. However, this analytical method is time-consuming (generally 5 days, BOD5), and the results may vary according to the laboratory (20%), primarily due to fluctuations in the microbial diversity of th...

Oil Refinery Wastewater Treatment by Advanced Oxidation Processes for Chemical Oxygen Demand Removal using the Box-Behnken Method

This study investigated the reduction of the chemical oxygen demand from the Kermanshah oil refinery wastewater using Fenton and Photo-Fenton processes. The study investigated the effects of operating variables such as ultraviolet light intensity in values of 0, 15, and 30 W, ferrous ion concentration in values of 10, 50, and 90 mg/l, hydrogen peroxide concentration in values of 100, 500 and, 9...
